Design

Hello all..

Hello everyone, I am new to treehouse and somewhat new to coding. This is the best opportunity I have ever been given.. I would love it if someone wanted to take me under their wing and show me the ropes. I am interested in becoming a stellar front end developer. If anyone has any advice that will help me be a better developer I am all ears...Thanks and good luck to all!

You have probably come to the right place to get the tools. Treehouse constantly releases new stuff.

My recommendations:

  • Never stop learning. Code and technology are constantly developed and changed. Stopping to learn means find yourself a new job.
  • You have to somehow define or find out which area of front end development: mobile apps? web-applications? The more you narrow it down, the better you can become before everything changes again. But of course if you narrow it down too much... it is not good either.
  • Get knowledge of a version control software, git or mercurial
  • Look at jsfiddle or codepen

best regards & best wishes

Thanks, I appreciate the input. Alot to learn here so better get going..thanks

Hi Jason, Don't underestimate the power of the real world! The best thing about development and design is the community. Where the online community is great, it will never meet the community of the flesh.

I'd recommend going to a meetup, have a look on Meetup.com. Lots of likeminded people all doing the same thing, its a great place to learn and talk face to face.
