For the first step you need to add a self-closing audio tag:

<audio />

Note that there is no end tag.

Then, inside the audio tag, you add a src attribute:

<audio src=". . ." />

To finish, you replace the . . . with the source of the audio file: http://treehouse-code-samples.s3.amazonaws.com/html-video-and-audio/bridge-audio.mp3

Note that attributes must be inside tags. Self-closing tags don't have end tags. That is, you can't do </audio>

All attributes are of the form name="value"
