Courses Plus Student 212 PointsHelp with job ruby
Hey people. I have applied for a job as a ruby developer, the companies asked me to provide an example of a code that im the most proud of.
Any ideas of what would be advanced enough so that they will choose me?
Is there anyone who could help me write something and/or mentor me and answer questions regarding ruby on rails.
Thankss in advance

36,441 PointsWait...you applied for a job before doing anything in Ruby? I would suggest getting to Treehouse courses as soon as possible! Work on Todo application to have something contemporary to show (treebok is outdated).

13,564 PointsLike Maciej asked, did you really apply for a job in which you work with a language you know next to nothing about? If so you should get started learning as soon as possible. Make sure to go through the Ruby library on Treehouse and try to pick up the syntax as fast as possible. Once you have done this assign yourself a project you think you would be able to make and that you would be willing to show them.

Courses Plus Student 212 PointsI said, "Advanced code" I finished all Ruby on Rails courses at both Treehouse & CodeSchool websites. I have built apps and studied a lot of Ruby & Rails.
I need someone to help me write advanced code so that their minds will blow! And will offer me a job.

Thing is that i feel that im not ready for real job. Would like someone to help me check skills and decide whether i should try or not and i I will manahe. Or give me pointers of what i should learn next.

3,083 PointsUse examples with class.methods ... maybe use threading or forking....What kind of systems will you be writing code for... System Stuff or is it more RAILS focused.

Tom Grab
Courses Plus Student 212 PointsIts Rails focused. Im a lot into apps scaled for large amount of visitors, this is my strength. Using caching, scaling and indexing db, reverse proxy cache etc..
Im not sure if smaller companies are into that as they dont get so much of a traffic. Bigger companies. Wont consider me without experience in the production.

3,083 PointsWelll... Just as long as you have something on github.com. The thing that I have noticed that impresses most of the guys that I have interviewed with was the content that I have posted online from the site.
