231,268 PointsYou're selecting the element, but what needs to go into the variable is the "value" attribute of that element.
Treehouse never provides challenge answers. I'd guess that's because getting the answer isn't important but knowing how to get the answer is. That's also probably why they encourage you to review the video if you have trouble.
