While your code does work, to pass this challenge you need to follow the example given in the video before the challenge. This is what they are looking for:

function arrayCounter(value) {
        if(typeof value === "undefined") {
          return 0;
        }
        if(typeof value === "number") {
          return 0;
        }
        if(typeof value === "string") {
          return 0;
        }

        return value.length;

      }
