General Discussion

Hi!, I'm a webdesign student I already had lessons in coding. But I don't know where to start anymore. Tips?

Because I had lessons of al these different languages, I don't know where to start anymore, I have the feeling I'm not controlling all of these languages as I should. I really would like to improve my coding skill, as this is my study's last year, I'm a little worried. I've started with the basics here on treehouse, to refresh my memory. I hope anyone could help me with some tips! :)

Hi Nadia, I suggest you follow the tracks rather than jumping on courses on library. The teachers arranged the courses involving different languages that you would eventually need. I think its best after you complete web design track, you jump immediately to frontend :)

Thanks!, That's the best thing too I guess, completing the webdesign track first and after that to the frontend! :)

Start with HTML and CSS even if you already know them or knew them, it can't hurt to refresh your memory.

Thank you! I was thinking the same, refreshing my memory can't hurt! :) Starting from the bottom .

I recommend focusing on a topic or course that you are seeking to use and experiment with. On topics that you are already familiar with, you can watch the videos and skip the quizes and code exercises. I did this with a course recently while practicing and following along with codepen.io. I finished the course faster and I think it was more beneficial for me to practice the code on my own. The quizes and code exercises can be very helpful though if you are just beginning the topic.

Thank you very much! That seems as a great idea, focusing on a topic. I'm gonna try that :)
