Hosting Sites

Hi there,

I'm new to web development and have developed my first site for my portfolio. I would like to know what is a good shared hosting site to use. I've heard of HostGator, Blue Host, and Dream Host and wanted to know if people can tell me the pros and cons for each or any of them. If you have a suggestion for me, that would be great too.

Hostgator is good. They are cheap and reliable. They have pretty much anything you could think of. I use GoDaddy however as they have a free daily automated backup of all my files for 30 days.

Thank you for responding so quickly. I noticed that for some of these sites like HostGator and Blue Host they offer free domains as an included feature. Would it be better to use them or to use a separate site to register like GoDaddy, Name.com, or Cheapname.com?

From an economical standpoint, it might be better to go with the those who offer it for free.

I'm using InMontion hosting for my wordpress websites.

But you can check what hosting is better for you, here: http://www.whoishostingthis.com/

Ps. they have coupons for discounts.

Or if you don't want spent to much money you can use Web Hosting for Students (http://webhostingforstudents.com/) they are very ship ($25/Year) and you get a free month for being TeamTreehouse student.
