How can I program/code/practice locally/offline?

I've been practicing HTML, CSS, Ruby, SQL and how to use the console, all here on Treehouse.

How can I practice all of these things offline/locally?

For instance, I can use my Terminal on my Mac to practice how to use the console.

How can I do the same with HTML, CSS, Ruby and SQL?

Thanks!

There are so many useful tools out there actually. Your default text editor is one you can just save them as HTML / CSS / JavaScript.

Here are some text editor that most of the Web Designers / developers use:

  1. Notepad++
  2. Sublime 3 (which I use)
  3. Atom

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

I use 2 things:

  1. pen
  2. paper

Then start writing code.

If you want to upgrade, use sublime.
