Python Python Basics Functions and Looping Create a Function

How can I turn result into a variable

squaring.py
def square(number):
    return number * number
Abdi Salad

result = square(3)

this is how you would do that. You simply create a variable. Since the square function returns a square of

whatever number, the result variable will hold the square of 3 in this case.

As Abdi suggested, creating a variable is just a matter of making an assignment using the function as the source.

And for Abdi (or anyone not already aware), when posting code, use the instructions for code formatting in the Markdown Cheatsheet pop-up below the "Add an Answer" area. :arrow_heading_down:   Or watch this video on code formatting.
