Courses Plus Student 32 Pointshow can you get an embedding video (vimeo) on html email to play on email client without being directed to the url site.
I am trying to embed a video on an html email using mailchimp to play on an email client without being directed to the url site such as youtube or vimeo.

I don't think it's possible to do what you want. Most major email clients' (gmail, yahoo, etc) spam filters will reject your mail because of the embedded video. So you'll have to do with a screenshot and/or link.
If someone knows how to do it, and still be able to bypass spam filters, I would be glad to hear.
Cheers, Max

Courses Plus Student 32 PointsQuestion: by spam filters rejecting mail with embedded video, do you mean that the email html newsletter with video won't make it into the email of the user at all or you're saying that it will be sent to spam box? Second question, as the original question says, is it possible to (if the email html newsletter with video makes it into the email) can the user play the video while in the email client and not be directed to the url (youtube, vimeo)? My question is, is there a way to override this part so it plays on the email. Maybe the snippet that youtube and vimeo gives you to embed the video can be change in a way to prevent the user to be directed to the actually site where the video lives. I hope you understand my question lol. I am just trying to understand how all this works and if there's a way. Thanks.

23,177 PointsHi Jose,
To answer your first question: Yes, that's a possibility. It also depends on the spam settings the users have set themselves. For an answer to your second question I would check out this guide: https://www.emailonacid.com/blog/article/email-development/a_how_to_guide_to_embedding_html5_video_in_email.
Hope it helps, Max
