Python

How do I add two variables, one is a float.

TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for +: 'float' and 'str'

This is the error that I'm getting.

def getScores(counter, score, number, totalScores): for counter in range(1, number): score = input("Enter score for the student: ") totalScores = totalScores + score return totalScores

def getAverage(totalScores, number, averageScores): averageScores = totalScores/number return averageScores

And here's the code that is befuddling me.

You need to convert the string - score, to a float so that you can add it to totalscores

Change : totalScores = totalScores + score return totalScores To: totalScores = totalScores + float(score) return totalScores

OMG, TY that worked, now still one more (I hope just one more) bug to work out.
