How do I answer questions on workplace leadership if I never had any?

How do I get experience online?

Most my leadership experience came from on the job, I took the risk and jumped into project leading some global projects and found myself being handed more project leads from this point on.

Although some ways you could gain some leadership experience if the oppurtunity does not present itself in your workplace would be to start your own personal project be it for profit or for charity and recruit some people to work under you and help you complete the project.

In a programming situation you could create a team to help you create an App or service for example, or lead a project on Github.

I honestly do not believe anything I have read or studied has ever helped me with leadership skills in the workplace and find that practical experiences seem to have formed the way I lead my teams as everyone is different and reacts differently to differnt leadership methods, I usually find myself changing my stance from team to team.

One of the key points that has always worked for me though is making sure regardless of how stressed or cutting to the deadline a project is, I take the time to listen to individual team members concerns or ideas. Doesn't mean you have to accept them but atleast acknowledge the ideas and concerns and try to answer them or embrace them, otherwise you just end up with unhappy team members which will drag a project down.

Thanks for the response.
