how do I change "Treehouse" in greeting_list to the first item in your name_list variable.

how do I change "Treehouse" in greeting_list to the first item in your name_list variable. Need help with this task.

greeting_list.py
full_name = "terence kelley"
name_list = full_name.split()
greeting_list = ["full_name"].split()

1 Answer

You need to reference the exact item in the greeting list first, then reassign that list position (the third item, with an index value of 2) to the second item in your name_list (index value 1). You don't need brackets or quotes around full_name, as it's a variable. So the full code would be:

full_name = "terence kelley"
name_list = full_name.split()
greeting_list[2] = full_name[1]
