If you have a local copy of your website on your computer, you would edit those files as you see fit then use Cyberduck to upload those files to your server. This will overwrite the files that are already on your server.

If you want to keep the original version before any changes are made you can use Cyberduck to download them to your computer. Then before you make any changes. copy those files to a new folder and make the changes to the files you copied. This keeps your original files intact.

As an aside, a more productive way to do this is with Git which you can find more about in the Git Basics course. Although don't rush into it if you don't feel comfortable. You can use the technique described in the previous paragraph for now.

Thank you so much for your quick response, i'am very new to this and i find it all very exciting! I wanted to go back and change it a little to see if i could understand the concept of how it works! Thank you for your help the commuinty here is very kind when i know so little, i will give it a go! Have a lovely evening!

Ok i have just opened cyberduck and opened the connection and i see all my files there now, so when i drag my new files there they will just replace them and not merge them?

That's correct. If you want to keep the originals, you may want to copy them and keep a backup locally and/or with a cloud service like Google Drive, Dropbox or similar.

Excellent thank you again your very kind! I've had a look at the work you have done and its quite impressive, i hope to have this knowledge one day!

Thanks for the kind words.

Keep at it. Having a genuine curiosity and eagerness to learn helps a lot.
