How do I get all three links selected for the challenge task with descendants selectors.

If I use the info in my code I get the message " The wrong Links or elements were selected. Be sure to select all links inside '<nav>'"

I tried to change it up using let navigationLinks = document.querySelectorAll('nav ul') and let navigationLinks = document.querySelectorAll('header nav ul'); but I get the message only 1 of the links was selected.

js/app.js
let navigationLinks = document.querySelectorAll('nav li');
let galleryLinks;
let footerImages;
index.html

quereySelectorAll() makes use of CSS selectors, so you may want to look at the CSS Selector documentation to figure out how to use it.

A period at the start of a CSS selector means it's selecting a class. When selecting an element you do not use a period.

When you used the string 'nav li' you selected all <li> elements that descended from <nav> elements. Since you need to select <a> elements instead of <li>, you would use 'nav a'.

Hi James,

Your selector is currently targeting all list item elements that are descendants of nav elements. Even though the only contents of the list items are the links they are not the same thing. Try targeting anchor elements instead.

I am still stuck on trying to understand anchor elements and how to use them.

I am looking at https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Document_object_model/Locating_DOM_elements_using_selectors

Here is what I tried to use: let navigationLinks = document.querySelectorAll("a.nav li");

I did not change anything else in the code but it gives me the message

The wrong links or elements were selected. Be sure to select all links inside '<nav>'.
