How do i get the content of my site to start after the fixed nav bar?

Hi all,

How do i get the content of my site to start after the fixed nav bar? As at the moment it is starting behind it out of site. I've tried using margin top and padding top but that then pushes the next paragraph down...

Add an div above your content, transparent with the same height of your nav (=
