How do I go about opening android studio?

I installed android studio, and when I tried to open it, the computer said the app was not created by a licensed developer, so I can't use it. I want into system preferences and in the security settings I clicked the allow anyway button. after I entered the password I tried to open it. I got an error pop-up that said "'Android Studio' will damage your computer". What do I do now?

This is a security feature of Mac OS X called GateKeeper. Mac OS X defaults to preventing applications from unidentified developers or sources from being launched.

You can bypass this message by clicking OK and allowing your app to open, or you can disable to security feature so that this message will not appear anymore.

To disable this security feature, Go to Settings > click Security & Privacy

On the General Tab, At the bottom where it says "Allow applications downloaded from:" Choose Anywhere

It opened. But if you can tell me why I got there error I would appreciate it.

I think that, it is because Google (the maker of the ADT) has not registered themself as a verified Apple developer https://developer.apple.com/programs/

Right, which makes sense (Imagine that! Android developers are registered Apple developers. Sound like an oxymoron).
