The logical inversion operator (or "not" operator) is a single exclamation point (!) placed before some boolean expression. It looks something like this:

let no = !true // no is false

Judging by your code, though, I'm guessing you're looking for the inequality (or "not equal") operator, which is an exclamation point followed by a normal equals sign (!=), and it's used like this:

let no = 10 != 10 // no is false
let yes = 10 != 9 //yes is true
