How do you create an optional?

You mentioned the dictionary was composed of optional strings- how did it decide it was an optional in the first place?

The back-burner code that Apple put together determined that. (In the form of an Enumeration, actually) - don't worry if you don't know what that is yet.

You don't need to worry about how to programmatically creating a custom variable optional, because, it already exists. Put "?" immediately after a type, example: let car: String?

what this does is say that a specific example or value is not required for the code to be executable. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask :)
