How do you retain your skills?

I am taking the front-end developer track right now and have found myself worried that I'm not retaining any information. Instead, I'm just going through the motions.

Today I'm spending reviewing parts I'm concerned on, but that still doesn't satisfy me.

What do you do to retain information/skills?

I usually build a full project website. I pick something I am interested in and I dive in. I try to build as much as I can on my own and work through each problem. If I get stuck I go to the docs, Google, or a friend.

Nothing makes it stick in my head then the repetition and problem solving from building something on my own.

I'll second Ricky. Build anything. Anything that uses the stuff you're learning will help you really learn it a lot better. When you do get stuck, remember, that's when you're learning new stuff. Don't get frustrated cause it gets easier every time you figure out how to get around a road block.
