how do you retrieve the value from an array

I still can't find how to solve this problem despite getting help

while.swift
let numbers = [2,8,1,16,4,3,9]
var sum = 0
var counter = 0

// Enter your code below

while counter < numbers.count{
      sum = sum + numbers.count
      counter++
}

sum = sum + 7

Hey Kehinde,

In your while loop, you are constantly adding the same, constant number numbers.count, which is 7. The challenge is asking you to add the numbers in the numbers array using the loop. To do this, you must access the numbers in the numbers array by using numbers[counter] since you have a variable counter to keep track of where you are in the array. The last line in your code is not needed, and everything should look something like this:

let numbers = [2,8,1,16,4,3,9]
var sum = 0
var counter = 0

// Enter your code below

while counter < numbers.count{
      sum += numbers[counter]
      counter++
}

Hope this helps, Rodrigo
