C# ASP.NET MVC Forms Adding Form Validation Implementing Unobtrusive Client-Side Validation

How does jquery validation work?

How does the jQuery plugin know which field is valid without contacting the server? I saw the error messages as attributes but how does the validation service know data is valid and which not?

The attributes that are added tot he HTML tags represent certain criteria that have to be met for validation. The client-side script component scans the fields for these tags and checks that their values conform to the criteria, otherwise the associated message is displayed.
