How should I list my education on my resume

I dropped out of college but I did complete computer science and math courses. I am unsure how to list this on linkdin or any other resume for that matter. I also have very few references and I have not held down a job in 3 years, I left my last job on poor terms with my employer.

You might want to consider working for a non-profit organization on a volunteer basis. It can be rewarding and also provide you with references. It might also open some doors.

There are very few places to volunteer where I live. Most of them are not taking new applicants. I am currently working, but I have not held down a job for longer than a few months. There are also no programming or web development companies or jobs in the area. I would like to move but I do not have the funds to do so at the moment.

You can list the number of credit hours completed on your resume. As far as moving, remember that you might be able to find a job in which you can work from your current location.

Thanks, I never thought about listing just the credit hours. I am continuing to look for work in my area though.

When in doubt, look at what other people are doing with their resumes. For example, this programmer lists his online education under a category called Independent Coursework.
