# how to get firstANDlast items inside a list ?

i did it like this :

def first_and_last_4(x): num1 = x[-4:] num2 = x[::-1] num3 = num2[-4:] num4 = [num3, num1] return num4 avg = first_and_last_4(???) print(avg)

slices.py
```def first_4(x):
return x[0:4]
def first_and_last_4(x):
num1 = x[-4:]
num2 = x[::-1]
num3 = num2[-4:]
num4 = [num3, num1]
return num4
```

You are on the right path. The first four can be found using `x[:4]` and the last four can be found using `x[-4:]`. You can then join these with a simple + sign.
