6,581 PointsHow to make a website using cyberduck
I went onto cyberduck, did open connection then after I clicked connect, I got this "Connection failed." How do I fix this?

Also, you might refer to Nick's video on uploading a website with Cyberduck. If all else, your account may still need to be setup.

33,856 PointsHi Rebecca,
You'll want to make sure you have the correct credentials. Knowing what host you're using would also help, and below is a tutorial you can follow along with.

14,044 PointsYou need to own a domain and have hosting, and have FTP enabled under your hosting account, then you need to know your FTP login credentials, then input those in proper connect screens on Cyberduck (user name, password, port #, host, IP, etc etc). Then, you will be able to log in to your site, see all your files there, and upload your website pages to your site that way.
Cyberduck needs something to connect to, like a website that you own. And you have to have a hosting account too, otherwise there is nothing to FTP / upload.
Make sense?
It sounds like you are just opening up Cyberduck, and clicking "Connect To" without having something to actually connect to. I'm sure you're not doing that, but your question sounds that way...

6,581 PointsI do own a domain and hosting and copied my credentials straight from my email... still got the message

14,044 PointsHmm... Are you sure the port number is correct? I had that problem with 1and1.com hosting, where I had to change the port number, even though the instructions said to use a different one. Also, the password is case-sensitive too (just in case - I make that mistake sometimes as well)

33,856 PointsAre you on a Mac or Windows? Who's your host?

14,044 PointsWho's your hosting account by? And on a side note, might I recommend FileZilla as an FTP client for Windows?

33,856 PointsIf you just recently set that up, I think sometimes they are having to manually configure things, so your account may not be setup yet. SFTP (port 22) FTP (21), but you might want to contact support if you think you have everything down correctly. Zac Gordon might be able to help with this.
