How to Make a Website....what next?

Hey guys, I've just completed the 'How to make a Website' part of the 'Web Design' track. I'm loving what I'm learning so far and have found the code challenges and quizzes great. However, I know that I'll never remember/ be able to replicate the site I've made by myself. I know that you aren't supposed to have a great grasp on everything thus far and that it is just the beginning, but I don't feel like I've retained enough info. I certainly couldn't remember what should be a class vs a wrapper vs an id etc. What would you guys think should be my next step? I can continue on my Web Design track and hope that I have retained enough to keep going or I could print off the html and css documents I have done in the last course and watch the videos again, making notes for each element etc and cementing my knowledge- thus creating a master html and css document to refer to in future. Do you think this is necessary or a waste of time? Any advice would be great!! Thanks

I recommend you to build a simple website, it could be a website about you or something funny, I don´t know.. When I was learning about HTML and CSS I did a website which theme was "The crazy adventures of a Sheep"...

Have fun while you do it!

I agree with Andres! Take this opportunity to start building in order to reinforce what you learned. Reference back to the videos if you need to and pay special attention to things you're having trouble remembering. For those items maybe include extra detailed comments in your html or take down some notes on paper to hold onto for the future.

Save sites like the mozilla developer network and w3.org to your browser bookmarks so you can quickly look things up.

I went ahead and built myself a simple personal website at about the time I reached the javascript section of the track. I purchased hosting, a domain, and downloaded the text editor "Sublime Text 2". I watched youtube videos and searched the web to fill any gaps and to learn how to use sublime text and publish my site. You don't have to go that far but just an idea! One thing definitely leads to another!

Thanks guys, I like that idea. I might print my html and css script from the How to Make a Website and use it as a basis to write a new site from scratch with custom values etc. I'll check out those other resources too James, Thanks!!!I really appreciate the direction
