How to run Swift on VMWare?

So, I read from other posts that VMWare works fine to run Swift on Windows.

I downloaded VMWare, but I am stuck on the next step...

I know that I need X-code as the tutorial says, but how do I download it on Windows and run it on VMWare?

For those people who use VMWare for this tutorial, it would be great if you could give me step by step tutorials on how to set up Swift on VMWare.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Edward! I think you will have to have a copy of Mac OSX installed on VMWare before you can install Xcode.

Hi Edward ,

Vmware is the best way to run "mac" in Windows or in Linux - Atleast the best alternative instead of buying MackBook.

I know i am answering very late and i think by now you must have figured out the way to run mac but if you didnt follow these steps :

1) Download vmware from their official site(google it) , then download vamware workstation ( Remember DO NOT download the latest version but some previous version i.e. " 10. version" or " 11. version" ).

NOTE - Also, if you want you can download the latest version and opt for trial version for one month that they offer and then after its expired download again the old version and then you can follow these steps so that you can take full advantage of the software.

2) After installing download the "mac" ISO image file from net for your Operating System.

3) During installation many necessary things have to done , for example - copying ISO image to you vmware destination files and much more, so i cant explain all these here but you will get lot of videos in youtube.

4) Now you will need a key to run the software so just type so search for "Universal key for 10 or 11 (which ever version you have installed) . Note - If you have installed the latest version then the universal key might not work(actually key might not be available) and you will not be able to continue using mac in your OS.

Hope this helps because i tried to keep it short and simple.

isn't it true the Virtual Machines don't work on some hardware, you have to have hardware virtualization enabled at the boot menu, I have had this problem in the past and was not able to overcome it. Of course it was a 32 bit computer from 2009. so...blah. Are most newer computers have this option? which ones are best. I think I heard rumor HPs are good for that
