How to use Treehouse

I've gone through the How to Make a Simple Website and HTML Deep Dive courses. When you guys go through these, what is your learning style?

Do you write notes on a notebook or a text editor? Do you type in the code while the video is being played? (that's what I do)?

I'd really like to know how you guys follow the videos so that I can find an effective way to do the tracks.

What I often do is have some paper out if I feel there is something I need to take notes on, I follow along if its a skill I am learning that I have little or no history with so that I can learn my doing. And I do the quizzes and code challenges. While you can 'skip the quizzes and challenges I never do. it solidifies what I am learning by doing it as well.

I never skip the exercise parts. They're pretty much mandatory if I want to make sure I understood a lesson.

oops meant to post that here...

Exactly

What I also do is, when writing things like CSS while the videos are being played, I make sub-folders of the lessons and save the code in their respective folders as well. That way, I can revise those lessons just by reading the code.

I tried the note-taking technique, but that takes way too long for me and frankly, its' quite boring (for me at least).

I make web pages and play around with what I learn. It's great for me cuz I'm a learn by doing type of person. It's also nice to make things and being able to go back and "steal" code for a different project.

I like to copy the videos with my own or similar code on a dual screen setup so I can watch videos on one screen code on a bigger screen I do also write notes in a book if it's something new well try to anyway it helps log in my memory save time from googling I do also like to repeat as much as possible the videos if I'm stuck or ask the forum that's how I learn on tree house as well it is interesting it's one of the best learn code sites I have been on

i always though it's learning by doing. not just videos
