HTML HTML Basics Getting Started with HTML Lists and Links Challenge

Href help HTML Basics

What did I do wrong? It tells me to set the href of the second one to "pies.html" and I did.... even copied and pasted but nope. It's so simple yet I cannot seem to find the problem.

<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Lists and Links</title> </head> <body> <ul> <a href="cakes.html"><li>Cakes</li></a> <a href="pies.html"><li>Pies</li></a> <a href="candy.html"><li>Candy</li></a> </ul> </body> </html>

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>Lists and Links</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <ul>
      <a href="cakes.html"><li>Cakes</li></a>
      <a href="pies.html"><li>Pies</li></a>
      <a href="candy.html"><li>Candy</li></a>
    </ul>
  </body>
</html>

Also ridiculous that you cannot move on when it's not your fault, there should be a skip button for this just like there is for quizzes, because this is very annoying.

Hiya!

You are right there...but some things need to be swapped. Basically, the <a> tag needs to be within the <li> tag, like so:

  <ul>
    <li><a href="cakes.html">Cakes</a></li>
    <li><a href="pies.html">Pies</a></li>
    <li><a href="candy.html">Candy</a></li>
   </ul>

Once this is corrected, you should be all set. Good luck!

You have to put the <a> tags inside of the <li> like this: <li><a href="cakes.html">Cakes</a></li>
