I am beginner... what's next?

I am beginner, I have just finished the computer language assignments. Should I start the Front end web development 70 hours next? Thank you.

Great job finishing learning the computer language assignments! If you want to make websites, learn HTML and CSS next. It is important because stuff in languages like Python usually have stuff like Python's Flask which requires HTML. If you want to learn plain programming (I recommend this!) you could learn (you pick):

  • Python
  • Ruby
  • JavaScript (learn HTML first for this choice!!)
  • Java
  • C#

Hope that helps! :dizzy:

I see... so, for beginners like me that front end web development track seems to be the right one... am I right? because it covers HTML, CSS and some JS. I was granted a scholarship in a coding boot camp(.NET stack); I am trying to prepare myself for it before the class starts. Do you think the front end(70 hours track) would help me...? I am a legit beginner... with no programming background. Is this track for beginners like me? And also, do you think it is possible to finish in 2 weeks?

Marcel, having completed the front-end developer track, I can tell you that it will give you a really excellent overview and is a great place for beginners to start. You might be able to do it in two weeks, but I'd recommend building projects as you go for the sake of retaining the knowledge you'll pick up along the way.

What kind of project would you recommend? Where you a beginner too? Was JavaScript really hard?

Well, there's a to-do list project available on Treehouse that will help you get a handle on JavaScript. You could also try building a survey or something similar.

Honestly, I'd still consider myself a beginner. JavaScript takes some time to understand - at least it has for me. But the more you practice, the better you'll get. I think the main thing is to just keep at it.

Did the front end dev developer track give you a little basic knowledge in JS? Did you start with zero programing knowledge before you start the Front end developer track?

Yes, the front-end track covers quite a bit of JS territory, including basics, loops, arrays, objects, interactivity, and JQuery, which is a popular library used in JS dev. You'll definitely come out of it knowing way more than you did going in. I'd say it's worth completing, and would make an excellent next step. Good luck!
