215 PointsI am not sure what to ask other than I am very confused and I think I have done it completely wrong! -_-
Please help ? Question: I think it's time for a snack. Luckily I have a string full of types of ice cream sundaes. Unluckily, they're all in one string and the string has semi-colons in it too. Use .split() to break the available string apart on the semi-colons (;). Assign this to a new variable sundaes.
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')
menu = "our available flavors are: {}."
display_menu = (', ').join(sundaes) + (", ").format({menu})

16,725 PointsHey Abdullah,
- Define
display_menu
before menu, as the challenge recommends you do. - In your
display_menu
definition, no parentheses are required around the string your joining the list on. - You want to put the
.format()
method on themenu
variable, so you should put it at the end of the string in themenu
variable.
This code here works, let me know if you have anymore questions about it!
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')
display_menu = ', '.join(sundaes)
menu = "our available flavors are: {}.".format(display_menu)

215 PointsThanks Kurt! That makes a of sense to me now.
I just want to ask you a question. Where it says display_menu = ' , '.join(sundaes)
why dont we include a bracket round the speech mark?
