I am turning back here. Any other free tools? I am afraid to download the Maya after reading questions

Some students have already asked my question. They were given only 15 days trial. Can I still get the 3 years free trial? or any other software? I am new here, I have no idea what this software is, but I am wanting to learn it.

It does not look like Maya is listed under the "Student Perks" anymore so you won't get any longer trial than what Maya's website says. Today you can get it free for 1 month at their website, if you are a student, you can get it free for 3 years. If you are still unsure to try Maya, i would recommend blender. Blender is free and open source, but you won't learn anything about blender at treehouse.

Thank you a lot Thomas. One more question. Can I develop 3D games with only Unity, not using Maya or blender? I mean does the Unity have this tools? creating trees, mounatins, objects, animals etc

Yes you can, but probably not making trees, mountains and animals. It is possible to make simple cubes, cylinders, spheres and so on. And if you get creative, you can probably make an mountain out of it. You can also look at the "Terrain" 3D gameobject to make mountains, trees and grass, there is a lot of tutorials about it online. If you want to make a 3D game from just making 3D objects in unity, i recommend this tutorial https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/projects/roll-ball-tutorial

You should also check out a game i made just by 3D objects in unity (without the cylinder, that i made in Google Sketchup) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.LianReviews.DropIt I hope this give you some inspiration to what you can make in unity without 3d editors

You can try to email them to see if you can get your trial extended and put a link to your profile here at treehouse to show them you need it for this course. They might be flexible and extend it for an extra month. It's worth a shot ;)
