i added the code <div class="favorite_stuff"> right both <div> but the page says your <div> elements need a class? I don't understand the question.

7,627 PointsWhere you added the class attribute is correct. The problem is you have an extra <div> tag right before both <div> tags where you added the class.
<div> --> DELETE ME
<div class="favorite_stuff">
Delete those and try again.

You've actually added a whole extra div. The challenge simply wants you to add that class to the existing divs that are there.
