I adjusted my code to many different ways but can't get it to work.

1) you need to use a backslash ("\") not a forward slash ("/")
2) "Hi there" isn't a variable, it's just some normal text in your string. So you shouldn't put any string interpolation stuff around it. The whole thing should look like this:
let name = "Shandas"
let greeting = "Hi there, \(name)."
