Java Java Objects (Retired) Harnessing the Power of Objects Throwing Exceptions

i cant get the code for the throw exception right

keeps telling me theres a problem with the illegalArgumentException. i tried IllegalArgumentEception and still did not work

GoKart.java
public class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String mColor;
  private int mBarsCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    mColor = color;
    mBarsCount = 0;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return mColor;
  }

  public void drive() {
    drive(1);
  }

  public void drive(int laps) {
    // Other driving code omitted for clarity purposes
    mBarsCount -= laps;
    if(mBarsCount<laps){
      throw IllegalArgumentException("Not enough battery");}
  }

  public void charge() {
    while (!isFullyCharged()) {
      mBarsCount++;
    }
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return mBarsCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return mBarsCount == MAX_BARS;
  }

}

Hi Zayyad,

your code is almost fine but you need to throw the exception first before you decrement the mBarsCount ....

It makes more sence to proof the condition first and then do the action of decrementing !

And you need to add the keyword "new" befor IllegalArgumentExceptions :)
