I could use some help

I am a little lost on this. Could I get some assistance, please?

function getYear() {
    var year = new Date().getFullYear();
  return year;
}

var yearToday = getYear();

This should work. You forgot the return statement and to store the function in a variable at the end. It asked for these in the instructions which might have been easy to miss since they weren't highlighted or italicized.
