Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 16,538 PointsHi Kidus, you are close, but what you want to do is concat the # symbol and lastName var to the end of the userName variable like this :
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = id.toUpperCase() + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();
In your case you are creating a new variable with the name username and assigning the values to it.
