I don't get it - how do I implement a change?

protocol ColorSwitchable {
    func switchColor(color: Color)
}

enum LightState {
  case On, Off
}

enum Color {
  case RGB(Double, Double, Double, Double)
  case HSB(Double, Double, Double, Double)
}

class WifiLamp: ColorSwitchable {
  let state: LightState
  var color: Color

  init() {
    self.state = .On
    self.color = .RGB(0,0,0,0)
  }

    func switchColor(color: Color) {
        WifiLamp.switchColor() // how do I set the correct argument?
    }
}

Hi Andis,

The problem is in your implementation. The protocol is not implemented correctly.

You cannot call the switchColor function inside the declaration of the switchColor function.

The challenge is just asking you to set the color of the WifiLamp to the new color. This is done like this.

    func switchColor(color: Color) {
        self.color = color
    }

The entire code now looks like this.

// Declare protocol here

protocol ColorSwitchable {
    func switchColor(color: Color)
}

enum LightState {
    case On, Off
}

enum Color {
    case RGB(Double, Double, Double, Double)
    case HSB(Double, Double, Double, Double)
}

class WifiLamp: ColorSwitchable {
    let state: LightState
    var color: Color

    init() {
        self.state = .On
        self.color = .RGB(0,0,0,0)
    }

    func switchColor(color: Color) {
        // Update the color of the lamp (self) and set it to the new color
        self.color = color
    }
}

I hope that helps,

Mike
