Front End Web Development Techdegree Student 15,705 PointsYou're very close. Classes use self a lot so you just need to add self. to open and close inside the parentheses of format.
Also, your argument to the hours method needs to be self.

13,023 PointsIn addition to this don't use open as a variable name. open is built in to the python language and redefining it could cause some strange behavior later on.
