JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Working With Numbers Doing Math

I don't know what I'm doing wrong here?

This challenge is telling me to create a variable named profitPerUnit and store in the variable the profit. This is to be done by dividing profit by quantity.

script.js
var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
var salesTotal = 9.99 * 47;
var profit = 47 * (9.99 - 5.45);
var profitPerUnit = (47 * (9.99 - 5.45)) / 47;

var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
var salesTotal = retailPrice * quantity;
var profit = salesTotal - wholesalePrice * quantity;
var profitPerUnit = profit / quantity;

for the challenge, you are passing in the variables that have been already declared, to the new variables below them, not their numerical value.

Can't believe I didn't think of that :). Thank you.

the point of this exercise is to do math using the variables. you are not using them in subsequent calculations. replace the numbers with the variables holding those values. then it's just a matter of math.

It totally slipped my mind. Thank you :).
