Python Python Collections (2016, retired 2019) Dictionaries Teacher Stats

i don't understand what argument we pass ?

For this first task, create a function named num_teachers that takes a single argument, which will be a dictionary of Treehouse teachers and their courses.

teachers.py
# The dictionary will look something like:
# {'Andrew Chalkley': ['jQuery Basics', 'Node.js Basics'],
#  'Kenneth Love': ['Python Basics', 'Python Collections']}
#
# Each key will be a Teacher and the value will be a list of courses.
#
# Your code goes below here.
def num_teachers(num):
  return {"name":"foo", "age":22}

Hey, It's asking you essentially to return the number of key values in the dictionary. You can accomplish this by using the len function.

def num_teachers(arg):
    return len(arg)

To be more explicit you could count the keys in the dict.

def num_teachers(arg):
    return len(arg.keys())

They both do the same thing.
