28,407 PointsLike Dave said there are no shortcuts to becoming an expert. This is true for almost anything, not just JavaScript. The way to become an expert in JavaScript is practice, and lots of it. Without practicing it will be very difficult.

19,870 PointsDepending on your learning speed, it will probably take writing and debugging 500 to 1000 scripts to get to expert. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any shortcuts.
