I have been stuck for several weeks because of the numerous bugs on this site.First it was an issue of uploading photos now workspaces is giving me issues in that I have no connection.Honestly,I really do not have time to waste and I have to learn,I need suggestions for another site or program that teaches web design etc.

16,274 PointsAlex I have been using teamtreehouse since May and I can tell that I have never used the workspace for one reason only and it is because I might loose my files for bugs, updates or any other reason.
By saying this I`m not saying the workspace is bad, to be honest I think is awesome but like I said the files are not stored in my computer. So, what I do is I download the project files and work from my computer while I watch the videos.
If you need a code editor download Notepad++ which is free, get the download files and you are ready!

Workspaces can be finicky, but for the most part, I can tell Treehouse wanted to put something on their site so students can see instant updates while they code. As someone who has only been coding for 8 months and now works full time as a programmer, this feature is extremely useful and absolutely necessary for new programmers.
Treehouse workspaces is extremely similar to a free open source program called "Brackets." I use Brackets in my everyday front end web design job. It looks and acts super similar to Workspaces. You can get it here: http://brackets.io/
My favorite part is the predictive text and the live preview. If you have a second monitor, put your preview on the monitor and watch your website come to live alongside your real time coding.
A nice touch is the addition of extracting elements from Photoshop files, so if you're working with a design team that gives you psd mockups, you can immediately extract those layers from the psd. It's a really handy feature and it saves me time from trimming transparent pixels from duplicated layers on my own in photoshop.
Hope this helps! Have fun, and keep on coding!
