I have my site... but want to add a blog through wordpress www.mysite.com and still be able to do www.mysite.com/blog.

So I have my site completed and don't want to design through wordpress the whole site. I want to utilize wordpress in that you would click button for blog and end up in my wordpress blog but still seem to be on my site. Header changes and such don't matter so much at this point just that I can host it without it overwriting my site and that it will display www.mysite.com/blog, and not www.mysite.wordpress.com or the such.

Where do I install wordpress as my fear is to pick my sites folder and wipe out what I have and have to reload from its backup and still not place wordpress the 2,3,4 time correctly. I'm following the track currently but this isn't being indicated in the wordpress sections.

My site is showcasing photos and designs. I'm wishing to be able to not replace photos in the gallery and such but utilize a blog to update through a read along if interested new clients and such want to see more recent work that isn't portfolio pieces but additional works.

Thanks in advance

You can install wordpress to a folder...

  1. In your host's root folder (where your main site is located) create the folder "blog"
  2. Download and install wordpress into that folder ("blog") from http://wordpress.org/download/
  3. They have well documented guides for installation and it should not interfere as long as you install it into the "blog" folder

The wordpress installation will be accessed at www.mysite.com/blog
