3,502 PointsI keep getting a "Workspace Connection Lost" Error
I'm doing the introductory html courses and I started getting this error while doing the footer videos and it has been recurring. Every time I try and go back to my workpsace editor after uploading more files/images it says the connection is lost. It will also just say it randomly when I'm writing code. This is very frustrating.
After a few minutes, it connects and is fine. I do not hit "reconnect now" because it just disconnects again.
I have no issues with my internet so I think it's a problem with the editor.

11,156 PointsI too have been having issues with workspaces, and I have blazing fast internet! I think it's just a tad buggy on their end. Workspaces is a great idea but isn't problem free just yet. Perhaps try emptying the cache and browsing data on your browser, and if that doesn't work I'd recommend just downloading sublime text 2 (what I do for treehouse learning) and following along with that. It's a robust text editor with identical features to workspaces that doesn't rely on the internet to function. you can snag it here: http://www.sublimetext.com/2
as it explains in the videos, you will need to make sure you have a well organized folder with the proper extensions: (i'd recommend just creating a folder on your desktop)
Folder: "name_of_your_project"
Inside said folder > "index.html" (your main html file), AND "any_additional_page_you're_working_with.html"
inside your name_of_your_project folder you should include a "CSS" folder
inside your CSS folder you should include ONLY your CSS files so "name_of_stylesheet.css"
this is exactly how Nick Petit does it, and will allow you to follow along with his videos seamlessly. Right clicking on any of these coding files (.css and .html extensions) and selecting open with > and then Sublime Text 2 will allow you to EDIT the code as you're following along. right clicking and selecting open with > Google Chrome, will allow you to preview what it looks like in the browser. (Exactly like what Nick does when he hits the 'preview' button in workspaces).
Not only will this eliminate your issue, but it will give you some good experience constructing and organizing your web folders for when you launch your site for real. It's a tiny bit of extra work but has reduced my frustration significantly. hope this helps,

3,502 PointsThanks a bunch I will probably just use a seperate editor so I can get used to it before I move off of treehouse. Does it have all the same keyboard shortcuts and "look" as workspaces? I actually really like the workspaces editor when it is not buggy.
Btw, I am using chrome with OSX 10.7.5 if that helps.
