Can somebody please tell me what is wrong with my code. Because personally I do not see anything.

- if you pick "n",
start != "N"
is true - if you pick "N",
start != "n"
is true - if you pick anything else, they are both true
I think you want to combine your expressions with and instead of or.
Another option would be to write the test this way:
if start.lower() != "n":
