Data Analysis Spreadsheet Basics Getting Started With Spreadsheets Getting Started With Spreadsheets Review

I need help on finding the answer to one of the questions in the quiz.

I am stuck on question 3/8 of the quiz under 'Getting started with Spreadsheets'. I seem to be getting a total of $9431 but it keep showing up as incorrect.

Since the questions may be in random order I assume you are asking about this question:

In the Expenses spreadsheet you opened in the first question, the total dollar value of all items in the F&B and Entertainment categories is: $

I may have cheated since I haven't taken the course but I sorted by category and pasted the cells into a new sheet before taking the sum.

The course probably wants something more like this

=SUMIFS(B3:B176, C3:C176,"Entertainment") + SUMIFS(B3:B176,C3:C176,"F&B")

Both methods came up with the same answer of 3583.00

Hi Kris, thanks for getting back to me! I was actually able to get 3583. My problem was that while filtering, I didn't realise that highlighting all the cells when SUMming them, actually includes the values of the hidden cells which is why it kept giving me a bigger answer.
