Python Dates and Times in Python Dates and Times strftime & strptime

I need help with this strptime problem

This is how far I am.

## Examples
# to_string(datetime_object) => "24 September 2012"
# from_string("09/24/12 18:30", "%m/%d/%y %H:%M") => datetime

import datetime

    return datetime.strptime('2012-09-24', '%d-%b-%Y')

1 Answer

You're not far at all, in fact, you're at the beginning. In the previous video, Kenneth literally solves this challenge in the first two mins of the video. Do this;

1) Watch the video again.

2) Go to Python strftime reference sheet for strftime formatting strings.

import datetime

def to_string(datetime):
    return datetime.strptime('2012-09-24', '%d-%b-%Y')👈# Just use the strftime formatting ("%d %b") instead

If you need further help, let me know.

Thank you so much. I finally figured it out
