Python Python Basics (2015) Logic in Python Try and Except

I understand a bit.(Python arguments to floats)

# remove the parenthesis from return statement. Technically ok but are just extra and not needed.
# the instructions say to use float(). 
# Lest say x is 9 if use float(x) the value is now 9.0    The key is the decimal.
def add(x,y):
    return float(x) + float(y)
