279 PointsI'm brand new as well, and I started on the tracks with HTML and CSS...it seems to be taught at the "coding for dummies" level, which is what I needed. And it has worked very well. I think I will try JavaScript after HTML and CSS. I hear lots of employers like ppl that know Java and SQL.

Welcome to Treehouse!
You'll probably want to join a track for sure rather than going into the library and trying to guess as to what you should take 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
The tracks have been put together by the staff and it's the order that they recommend you take.
What track you join probably depends on whether you see yourself more as a developer or a designer.
I would start with either the front end track or the web design track depending on which one seems more interesting to you.
You will find that there is some overlap between the tracks too.

14,818 PointsHi Joshua, Definitely take the advice of the above posts and pick a track. Back-end tracks like PHP and front-end tracks like javascript, both start with html and css, these are a must to at least understand. Then they move on the programming. Some good advice once given me, it takes time, be patient and stick with it.
Good luck :)
